The Graduating Class of 2007 has continued our tradition of academic excellence and has in fact achieved our best results for many years.
The following statistics reflect their success:
- 10% of our students achieved an ENTER score over 95
- 16% achieved over 90
- 24% achieved over 85
- 38% achieved over 75
- As befits their results,
more than 90% of students who
applied for tertiary courses received an offer in the 1st round
and of those, 62% received their 1st or 2nd preference.
- Viet Do, our Dux, received 1st
class honours in Melbourne University’s Extension Program for
Maths, plus a scholarship.
Given that Springvale Secondary College students come from a diverse multicultural background, with over 90% of our students having English as their second language and a significant number of our students having been in Australia for only 2 years or so, these results are even more spectacular.
We are very proud of our students' results.
This outstanding achievement is a reflection of the quality of our preparatory programs, the dedication of our teaching and support staff and the commitment, effort and teamwork between students and teachers at Springvale Secondary College.

Congratulations to our Year 12 Class of 2005
As you know, many of our students here at SSC have language backgrounds other than English, many have disrupted educations and others struggle with difficult financial or family circumstances. Despite so many challenges, our students continually achieve far beyond expectations.
That is because our students and teachers set high expectations of themselves and work hard together to support one another and achieve their goals.
Our Graduating Class of 2005 is a wonderful example of what can be achieved in such an environment. Here are a few statistics in relation to this group of students that you may find of interest:
- 98% of the students who set their sights on achieving their VCE did so (we have achieved this remarkable result for the last 3 years in a row)
- Almost 30% of our students achieved ENTER scores over 80 (schools across the state only averaged 20%) and quite a few scores were in the 90’s.
- 92% of students applying for University or TAFE courses received first round offers this year (almost 80% of these were first or second preferences), and we expect 100% will find a place by the end of the process.
- Our students were successful in gaining places in many high profile courses including: Medicinal Chemistry, Engineering, Accounting & Finance, International Business and a range of Commerce and Business courses.

Congratulations to our Year 12 Class of 2004
Our Class of 2004 set a shining example of what can be achieved if you set high expectations and are prepared to work hard to meet them.
In 2004 our students continued a long-standing tradition of academic excellence and achieved for the second consecutive year an outstanding Year 12 pass rate of 98%.
This achievement is not only a testament to the students' focus, dedication and perseverance, but to the dedication, hard work and talent of our highly qualified and dedicated staff.
Not only did our students do well in general, many of our students achieved outstanding individual results:
Ron
Yu became our 2004 College Dux with an ENTER score of 95.95. Such an ENTER
score is a remarkable achievement for any student, but in Ron's case it
is even more so. Ron was one of our International Students, given his
sat all of his exams in a language that is not his native tongue, his
achievement can only be described as incredible. Such a result is a true
testament to what can be achieved if you have high expectations and are
willing to work really hard. Ron has been accepted into Radiography and
Medical Imaging at Monash University (Clayton) - following in the footsteps
of our 2003 Dux, Connie Pu.
Other students achieving highly included:
- Jack Yang accepted into Accounting/Banking & Finance Monash University (Clayton)
- Monica Wang accepted into Accounting & Finance Monash University (Clayton)
- David Ni accepted into Commerce Melbourne University (Parkville) and
- Sophea Chhay Kim scored 45/50 in LOTE (Khmer) - making her a 'Victorian Top Scorer'. Sophea studied LOTE through the Victorian School of Languages on Saturday mornings.
The great majority of our class of 2004 who sought a tertiary placement have been successful. Many in highly sought after University and TAFE courses. Just some included:

Class of 2003
Outstanding Success In 2003 we had 63 Year 12 students who sought to complete their VCE (including 18 International students). The results our students achieved this year continue our long-standing tradition of outstanding academic excellence.
This year's outstanding pass rate of 98% is not only a testament to the students' focus, dedication and perseverance (in sometimes very difficult circumstances), but to the dedication, hard work and talent of our highly qualified and experienced staff.
Our students and staff fully deserve recognition for this outstanding result.
84% of our students have applied to continue their studies at tertiary institutions, with the remainder seeking employment directly.
